Welcome to Knowles Junior School |
|
We aim to help every child to learn rewardingly and purposefully, through carefully planned teaching and a wide range of other educational opportunities. During their time here we hope that your children will discover their own capacity to learn, and adapt themselves to different working situations, demanding different levels of cooperation and self-discipline. They should then be equipped with the tools of learning so vital to their future prospects.
We are looking forward to having your children with us for the next few years, and we also look forward to having you, as your child's first educator, alongside us. You know your children best, so we aim to work in partnership with you, in order for them to get the most from their time with us.

In March 2011 children from Year 6 and four members of staff took part in a one day residential visit to the Caldecotte Outdoor Activity Centre. It was an amazing experience for everyone and we all came home extremely tired.
Highlights included sailing on the lake where everyone got extremely wet including, Mr Slack and Miss Hoskin, as it poured with rain. We also enjoyed the caving activity which was very dark and spooky – Mrs Boothman was not so impressed by this activity!

On Tuesday 8th March our string ensemble took part in the String festival held at the Cornerstone Church. The group consisted of one double bass player, Kelcie and seven violin players, namely, Thuva, Georgie, Jamilah, Mya, Jenny, Megan amd Taylor.
The girls played brilliantly and won the silver trophy. They were invited to play at a concert the following evening. The girls gave a flawless performance and were applauded very loudly by the audience.
Well done you did our school proud!

Come and join in the Cookathon on Tuesday 5th April 2011.
In the School hall from 9.30am-12.00pm then 1.30pm-3.00pm. Last year we were south East Regional winners and managed to get a whopping 660 people including the wider community cooking on the same day.
This year we are aiming for more. We will be cooking Veggie Fajitas. If you can join us on the day then why not have a go at home just let us know you have taken part so we can note your name as all numbers count.

To help raise money for Children in Need, here at Knowles Junior School we took part in the “Let’s Get Cooking - Get Baking for Children in Need”. The big bake took place on Friday 19th November and the idea was to get as many people baking on the same day.
In total we raised £300, and have been mentioned in the ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ current News letter, which is published every term.
Quote from lets get cooking newsletter
Knowles Junior School in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, invited everyone to wear spotty clothes and held an ‘open kitchen’, where children and parents had the chance to bake Pudsey Bear cookies and buy bags of read-weighed ingredients to take home. They raised £300.
