Information Technology

Information Technology is taught in a variety of ways in the school.  Often it is used as an extra resource in other subjects where children can access programs written specifically for one topic such as the Egyptians or Rivers.  It is also used in Maths, English and Science for report writing, data handling or extension work, again on a specific topic.  Our computers allow children to access Broadband Internet and to send and receive E-mails from their own E-mail accounts.  All internet and mail is fully screened.

We aim to teach children skills such as data handling, the use of spreadsheets and graphic programs.  We also use control technology and the use of basic desktop publishing skills.  We have expanded our range of computers and programs over the last year in order to give children even more access to this vital part of their education.

The children will also have the option to join computer club at lunchtime and take part in computer-related activities during privilege time.
