PSHE And Citizenship

Children follow a programme throughout their time in school which includes work on Health and Hygiene, personal safety in the home and outside, elements of citizenship, drugs and alcohol awareness and general social responsibility.

In our Circle Time sessions children are encouraged to discuss issues which affect them, such as bullying, in a non-threatening situation.  Many school issues are brought up in these sessions and we see them as very valuable.  Children are given a forum of their own where their views are listened to and respected and staff can also get an insight into children’s thoughts, fears and feelings about many topics.

We also follow SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning), an excellent learning programme produced by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
