Science gives an essential understanding of the world around us and how it works.  To ensure that all aspects of the curriculum are covered, Science is taught as a separate subject. Where practical, links are made to other areas of the curriculum being studied.

Methods of study include practical investigations – including different ways of recording results – demonstrations, use of information technology and work with books and television where appropriate.

The children also have opportunities to analyse scientific data  in a range of contexts.  Areas of Science covered will include Forces,  Magnetism, Electricity, Rocks and Soil, Habitats, Growth in Plants and Animals, Materials, and how the various parts of our bodies work.
