The Junior School curriculum comprises the five core subjects and seven foundation subjects. Other subjects are included in our Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHE) programme. This comprises Circle Time: an opportunity given to each class to discuss issues relevant to them or the school in general, as well as wider issues. These could include bullying, other areas of social responsibility or general moral issues. We also include certain aspects of Health Education and visits by outside speakers such as the Police in our programme. More details of individual subject areas are to be found on the following pages. The staff have regular discussions on curriculum matters in order to produce policy documents which in turn inform the more specific schemes of work followed by the children. They are essentially professional documents but are available in school for any parent to read, along with all National Curriculum documents. Subject Leaders liaise on a regular basis with their counterparts in both the First and Secondary Schools in order to ensure a continuity of education.
