On March 16th we at Knowles took part in the Let’s Get Cooking National Cookathon.

The pupils and staff spent the whole day chopping and preparing vegetable soup and fruit salad. Tables were set up in the playground and at the main entrance, so that parents and the local community could take part.

In total we managed to get 660 people cooking throughout the day. Some local businesses, helped out by donating vegetables and fruit for the day. The Mayor of Milton Keynes was also invited to join us. We were pleased to find out that we were the south east regional winners and received a prize of £250.00 to use in our cooking club.

News of our success reached the local paper and Three counties radio who came into school to record one of our cooking sessions, where the children cooked orange breakfast muffins, omelettes and breakfast smoothes.
